As a parent myself, I am aware of how we are living in a changing world. Being a child is more complex these days due to many different things. For example, the stress and anxiety created by the Covid pandemic and increased self-image pressures related to social media. I also believe as parents we face more challenges due the amount of outside influences available to children today. I can provide help and support with NLP Child Therapy by providing your child with the tools and techniques to successfully navigate through these challenges.
I have personal experience with OCD and understand how utterly life-limiting and destructive it can be, not only for the child but also for their families. I am privileged to give children the help and support they need to overcome OCD and also support their families and help them understand what is going on. OCD stands for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, this is where the child will experience intrusive thoughts that will be anxiety provoking which will lead to the child having to carry out a behaviour to rid themselves of the thoughts or feelings. Anxiety and OCD are strongly linked as often the child will perform compulsions or rituals to ease the anxiety. Unfortunately the relief from the anxiety is short lived and the more the behaviour is carried out to ease the anxiety the stronger the OCD becomes. This thens becomes a vicious circle With the use of NLP therapy with is similar to CBT the cycle can be broken.
“Little people, big feelings” A lot of the work I do with children is helping them to understand their feelings and emotion regulation. Using NLP techniques they learn how to show others how they are feeling and why in a positive way.
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming, “Neuro” relates to the brain and “Linguistics” refers to language and how it is used in our minds as well as how it is spoken. “Programming” describes behavioural patterns. By using safe NLP techniques and strategies we enable children to feel in control of their feelings and actions, be able to make better choices and see things from another perspective. NLP work is effective in helping Children to overcome bad habits, fears, behavioural issues, OCD, low self-esteem and many other issues.
